Since 2003, I have held key roles across the Property & Casualty insurance industry. As a claims examiner, I developed my critical thinking skills. From there I became a QA Analyst, learning how to assess trends and communicate action plans to stakeholders. As I became more involved in solution-based recommendations, I transitioned to a Learning & Development role.
With a robust history in results-oriented solutions, I work close with stakeholders to identify business needs and what problems need to be solved through my training programs.
Once I have clear objectives, my philosophy is to design every aspect around the learner. I strive to design courses that demonstrate value to the learner with a heavy emphasis on engagement activities that prepare my learners for real-world application of the topics they are learning. Whenever possible, I employ storytelling techniques and activities that activate the learner's interest while being respectful of their time and resources.
The landscape of corporate education continues to evolve to accommodate diverse, remote workforces. Whether that learning takes place in a traditional instructor-led setting or is fully asynchronous, eLearning technology allows us to engage with learners in a way that far exceed the boundaries of a traditional classroom setting.
My emphasis is designing courses that take advantage of technology that engages learners in a way that exceeds the benefits traditional classroom instruction. Technology that allows learners to define their own learning path without loosing sight of organizational goals.
