Interactions and video are used as storytelling devices to inform our learners about privacy regulations in this self-paced eLearning course.
Adherence to the CPRA is a significant compliance matter for any company doing business in California. Our Compliance department provided training directly to those who were involved in CPRA inquiries and presented a 60-minute PowerPoint to our leadership team.
Compliance was asked to present a consolidated training course to the rest of our staff, explaining the impact of the CPRA on our business and the day-to-day activities of our frontline staff.
Working with Compliance, we established clear learning objectives for the course. From there, we determined what topics from the PowerPoint were pertinent to our frontline staff, which needed expanded training, and which unnecessary.
With solid business objectives, this course was designed to allow learners to explore the CPRA at their own pace. Each topic was broken into an individual lesson supported by video and interactions with a summative assessment was added to reinforce proper procedures.
Particular attention was devoted to relating the material to a staff who rarely encounter consumer inquiries. Early in the course, a branching scenario activates prior knowledge of consumer privacy trends with the learner's own experiences. Later, a collection of case studies across multiple consumer-facing industries explains the value our awareness and compliance with the CPRA.
The course was authored in Rise. Video elements were created using Powtoon with edits in Camtasia. Voice overs were captured and edited with Audiate.
